WVICL is celebrating cycling by hosting its another photo and video contest during the 2025 season. Student athletes are invited to submit entries beginning on July 1, 2025 through October 10, 2025. Winners will be announced at the final race of the season (Grand Vue) on October 19th, 2025.
Up for grabs are $75, $50 and $25 gift cards to your favorite WV bike shop for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, respectively, in both the photo and video categories. See the rules below to find out how to enter.

Contest Rules

Who Can Enter?
  • There is no fee to submit photos or videos, and any WVICL registered student-athlete (grades 6-12) can enter.
What Can You Enter?
  • There are two general categories for submissions: photos and videos. Individuals can submit up to two (2) photographs and/or one (1) video.
  • All content must adhere to NICA-approved activities (see NICA Handbook and Code of Conduct), and will be screened before acceptance to ensure content is of approved activities.
    Judges will notify contestants if an entry is considered unacceptable. All content must be cycling-related but does not need to be limited to WVICL events.
  • Submissions must be original artwork created by the contestant using photographic or videographic means. Images and videos may be edited, but content created with generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) is not permitted.
    By submitting an entry, the contestant affirms they have consent from the primary subjects whose image or likeness appears in the image. No copyrighted materials (music, images, video clips, etc.) may be used for this contest unless you own the copyright or have a license to use the material for this contest.

Submit Entry

How To Enter?
  • Photos and videos must be submitted in digital format to Contest@westvirginiamtb.org. If submissions are too large to email, a virtual link must be provided for download.
  • Each photo / video submission must include a TITLE, DESCRIPTION, LOCATION, NAMES OF PRIMARY SUBJECTS, MONTH AND YEAR TAKEN, and PHOTOGRAPHIC / VIDEOGRAPHIC DEVICE USED.
  • Once submitted, all photos / videos will be considered a final submission and may not be modified, edited or replaced. If more than the allowed number of entries are received from a single individual, only the initial entries will be accepted.
  • The lowest quality photo accepted is 5” x 7” 300 pi, 1500x2100 pixels, and must be tif, jpg, raw or png format.
  • Video entries must be between 30-60 seconds in length. They must be submitted in .mp4 format (or link to online video) and have a minimum resolution of 1280x720p.
  • First, second, and third place photos and videos will be awarded in both categories. Awards will be based on judges’ scoring based on the following: Technical Criteria including exposure, focus, color and lighting (20%); Visual / Aesthetic Criteria including composition and visual impact (20%), Creativity (20%), Subject Matter (20%) and Storytelling (20%).
* While artists maintain the rights to their entry, by submitting a photo/ video the artist gives WVICL permission to use them for purposes such as but not limited to printed materials, websites, marketing, recruiting, and reporting.
