Coed Advanced Camp
July 17 – July 22, 2022
At these camps we will hone existing skills and learn new skills that will open up a world of exploration opportunities. In addition to bikes, these camps will include camp craft, group awareness and personal development, map reading, fire building, and self-awareness activities to develop a new level of competency for wilderness and backcountry adventures. The confidence and community developed will serve our participants once they leave camp as well–from bike races to schoolwork to other adventures for the rest of your life.
You do not need to have prior camping experience or be an expert in the outdoors to participate in these camps – we will teach you everything needed to have success on this adventure! As a group, we will set up a basecamp in the forest and camp in tents under the darkest skies in the mid-Atlantic region. From your basecamp we will venture out on daily rides into wild places like the Seneca Creek Backcountry and to the highest summit in the state, Spruce Knob (4863 ft.). In the evenings, unwind from the day by spending time around our campfire growing relationships with NICA friends both new and old. Experience Learning will provide all necessary camping gear, onsite transportation, use permits, and program food.
You must be registered through the NICA League to participate in these camps. These are specialty camps with a limited number of spaces. We encourage you to reserve your spot as soon as you are able to commit.
